Such messages are often very convincing, as they may contain reservation details, guest names, or other information that creates a false impression of authenticity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How does the scam work?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Attackers may pose as a hotel, accommodation provider, or other trusted organization. They send a message to the guest urging them to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>to confirm the reservation,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>to a surcharge or additional payment for a service,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>to confirm payment details,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>to re-enter payment card details,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>to opening a link due to the alleged confirmation of the reservation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Such messages typically contain a web link that leads to a fake website where the user is asked to enter personal or payment information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Be especially careful when the message:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>mentions your actual reservation or date of stay,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>requires reconfirmation of the reservation or re-entry of data,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>requires an additional payment, deposit or surcharge,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>contains a link to enter personal or payment information,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>creates a sense of urgency, requires immediate action and warns of the possibility of cancellation of the reservation,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>encourages you to continue communicating outside of normal communication channels,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>contains language and grammatical errors or unusual web addresses (URLs).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Recommendations for guests and prevention of abuse<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Do not click on links in suspicious messages (SMS messages, emails, WhatsApp, Viber).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do not enter payment card information via links received in unverified messages.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Verify the authenticity of messages: Always verify the authenticity of the request before making any payment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use official channels: make reservations, payments and other requests exclusively through the officially published communication channels of Thermana dd.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Protect passwords and codes: never provide passwords, one-time verification codes (SMS OTPs), or other security information to unknown persons.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What to do if you receive a suspicious message or suspect abuse?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Do not perform the activities in the message: Do not open
